Octopus on a shell

I have been feeling very down this December.  I haven't been making art because I wanted to see what works came back first.  However, a friend told me that when I didn't do art, I got depressed.  And it had been 6 weeks since I did any sort of creative work.  The Muse, bless her, whispered in my ear "Make something.  Make anything.  Just MAKE something."  I'm not up for metal just yet so opted for poly clay.  I made the octopus, which is probably 3 -4 inches with the shell, with a miniature Christmas ornament.  I had to take it apart about 4 times and put it back together.  I ended up using alcohol ink to add depth of color to it.  Red, patina peach, more red, and then Pearl Ex silver.  The shell I painted blue and purple, but when baked it oxidized....but the effect is awesome!
