The Death of Optimus Prime

As death crept upon him, the object in his hands grew heavier.  His eyes focused upon it for one last time, this precious burden that he had secreted within for so long. It had draped the twin albatrosses of responsibility and leadership upon his shoulders.  Feeling the cool caress of darkness draw across his brow he knew that he had failed in attaining his lifelong goal. It belonged now to the next generation.  With his final breath, he birthed the philosophical gadfly that had driven him for a millennium:  "Until All Are One!"  His vision faded.  It was finally done.
